Capital Campaign
The Southgate Seventh-day Adventist Church is on a ministry mission! We refuse to be discouraged, defeated, or distracted from reaching the goal of repairing our sanctuary. Approximately 18-months ago, our congregation was preparing to launch the remodeling of our edifice. The faithful members had raised $95,000 towards this endeavor and we were excited about the endless evangelism and outreach opportunities.
Then, on January 26, 2021, a raging storm hit the Sacramento region producing 5.44 inches of rainfall and winds up to 67 mph. Like so many residents and businesses in the area, our church was ravaged by this unusual storm. Southgate suffered roof damage from the high winds and rain poured into multiple areas throughout our building structure. We were advised by our conference leadership to begin the repair process and they would facilitate the insurance claim with Adventist Risk Management (ARM). We began hiring professional movers, an experienced demolition company and licensed contractors.
After nine months of inspections, meeting, and extensive communication, we were shocked when ARM rejected our insurance claim. Their premise is that all the damages were preexisting and not caused by the rainstorm. Although we prepared a thorough insurance claim dispute letter with extensive documentation, ARM refused to review, discuss, or even consider our rebuttal.
Southgate is now boldly claiming the redeeming promises described in Nehemiah, Chapter 1. As the faithful prophet Nehemiah pleaded for the wall of Jerusalem to be restored, we are fasting and praying for God to work a miracle for our congregation. We will not doubt the divine power of our Lord and Savior to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Your partnership in prayers and financial donations are genuinely appreciated.

Southgate Church Repair Progress
We want to thank all those who has contributed to the repairs of our Church Sanctuary repairs. We still have work that needs to be completed before we move on to the Fellowship Hall side of our facilities. The stairwell, upstairs classroom, Junior Room and Men's and Women's Restrooms (ADA Compliant) will round out the Sanctuary Phase of the repairs. We are asking that you continue your giving and God will Restore!!
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
